Level 1— Sea and Sailing Sense Learning Outcomes: introduce ocean safety and Pacific maritime heritage, proficiency in 3 essential sailing knots, weave at least 1 small handicraft, understand parts of the waqavoce, familiarization sail on the waqavoce (1 sail), learn and play 1 traditional game, learn 3 cultural protocols…and other fun activities!

Children must be proficient swimmers and parents must be willing to sign indemnity forms. All care will be taken and instructors have undergone Child Protection training.
Kids must complete Levels 1-10 (1-2 week sessions per level) to become an Uto ni Yalo Junior SailMaster.
Each level includes hands-on practice, cultural activities and environmental action.
Kids will each be given their very own Passport to the Sea — a logbook to track sailing skill progress; and badges upon mastering traditional skills.
