For 78 years, a member of the British Royal family has featured on the local currency of Fiji.
However, from January 2013, a series of new-look currency came in to circulation with unique local flora and fauna replacing the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The decision to include these images was made to help preserve our national heritage as many are of the species are endangered.
