For 78 years, a member of the British Royal family has featured on the local currency of Fiji.
However, from January 2013, a series of new-look currency came in to circulation with unique local flora and fauna replacing the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The decision to include these images was made to help preserve our national heritage as many are of the species are endangered.
Along with the design changes, the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) also introduced a $2 coin in place of the old $2 note.

20c coin features the Kaka (Kadavu Shining Parrot)
50c coin features the Varivoce (Humphead wrasse)
$1 coin features the Vokai (Banded Iguana)
$2 Coin features the Ga Ni Vatu (Peregrine Falcon)
$5 note features the Kulawai (Red-Throated Lorikeet)
$10 note features the Beli (Levers Gobi)
$20 note features the Kacau Ni Gau (Fiji Petrel)
$50 note features the Tagimoucia
$100 note features the Nanai (Cicada)
